La Trobe Eco-Corridor

Wominjeka!

Welcome! We’ve worked with the Wurundjeri people as the local custodians of the land, to rename the La Trobe Eco-Corridor to reflect its Indigenous heritage. It is now named Nangak Tamboree, which means 'respecting, sharing, looking after waterway'.

Although the campaign is closed, you can still learn about the different Indigenous naming options and explore the map. We would like to thank the many survey participants who shared their preference for the name.

La Trobe University acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands where its campuses are located in Victoria. We pay our respects to the Wurundjeri people, the Elders past and present.

We recognise that Indigenous Australians have an ongoing connection to the land and the University values their unique contribution to the University and the wider Australian society.
